I never imagined having to say this, except now, we live in a world that melts my brain to sort fact from fiction. We’re flooded with stories that were never lived, words that were never spoken, images that were never seen through human eyes, and ideas that were never wrestled with in the midst of real uncertainty. So, I want to make one thing clear:
Everything on this website is genuinely, unmistakably and messily human.
This site, these articles, the pictures and illustrations, they’re my real experiences, my real reflections, my lessons learned learned the hard way. They come from the messy, unpredictable, joyful, painful, exhilarating reality of living.

How my approach is different
If this is your first time here, welcome. My name is Scott Stoll. I explore how to live a more meaningful and joyful life—and I invite you to join the journey.
I’m not an anointed expert, and I don’t pretend to stand above you on a pedestal with all the answers. Instead, I learn alongside you. My approach is playful, experimental, and open-ended—more like a guinea pig in the laboratory of life than a lifeless authority handing down truths.
I do offer some solutions, but I am not telling you what path to travel; consider them lanterns to light your way.
In this day and age, I think this is the most valuable thing I have to offer — sharing my adventure being a human being. I share my misadventures and missteps, the uncertainties and surprises — the humanness. You could call them mistakes, but I like to think of them as the fuel of change, the very things that challenge us to grow, shape our thinking, and deepen our understanding of ourselves and how the world works.
Though my goals are to entertain, inspire and educate, more importantly, I want to connect on the human level. I think, more than ever, we humans crave companionship, to know that you’re not alone in your questions and longing for a richer life.
